By air to Salzburg Airport, then our recommended method is by hire car to Kaprun. Hiring a car at Salzburg airport is relatively easy and the car hire (Auto Vermieten) offices are directly opposite the terminal building across the car park and bus stand. Alternative travel methods from the airport are by bus direct to Zell am See, or by bus to Salzburg Hauptbahnhof (Main Railway Station) and then by train to Zell am See. From Zell am See it is a relatively short taxi ride (10 minutes) to Kaprun. We recommend you check the bus timetables to determine they coincide with your flight arrival. Kaprun lies off the B168 and B311 near Zell am See. From Salzburg airport take the A1/E55 towards München. After a short while take the A10/E55 towards Hallein/Villach. After about 25 minutes take the slip road on to the B311 towards Bischofshofen. Follow the B311 through the Pongau region for about 35 minutes towards Zell am See. When close to Zell am See take the B168 towards Kaprun. Drive towards Kaprun from the B168 and take the road that bypasses around the Eastern side of the town (through a short tunnel) ignore the road that takes you to the town centre just before this tunnel. Immediately after the Billa Supermarket (on your right) turn left over a bridge, turn left on to Nikolaus-Gassner-Strasse, travel about 50 metres and turn right into the apartment house car park opposite Toni’s Hotel. There is a Pizza Restaurant at the ground floor of the apartment house. The car park is behind the apartment house through a red barrier. The number of the apartment house is 41C. The housekeeper will greet you on your arrival, please be at the designated location at the agreed time. You will also notice apartment house 43. This is where your skis and boots should be stored - in the basement - you will be provided with a key to apartment house 43. The Housekeeper, Christian Eder, will show you to the apartment and provide the keys. There is a lift in both Apartment houses.
